Support Worker - Drug and Alcohol Residential Recovery Services - Ozcare (Townsville)

This casual role will involve supporting clients in their daily activities, monitor and report on clients progress and liase with approrpiate agencies to provide suitable referrals while working collaboratively with clients to develop flexible strategies to assist them to achieve their goals.  Qualifications in Human Services or a related field an advantage for this role.  Experience working in the community sector or knowledge of issues affecting homeless men, good computer and mobile device skills and the flexibility to work a varied roster including night and weekend shifts required.  A Police Check will be required prior to commencement along with a Disability Services screening and Working with Children Check.  Optional salary packaging, meal entertainment cards and novated leases, along with private health insurance discounts and uniform and laundry allowance will be provided.

Counsellor - Alcohol and other Drugs - West Moreton and Somerset:  Anglicare

This role, based at Booval and Riverview, covering Gatton, Lowood, Laidley and Somerset regions will be part of the Mental Health & Family Wellbeing team.  The full-time Counsellor role is responsible for the effective delivery and positive promotion of teh Alcohol and other Drugs Program to referred young people through the provision of a biopsychosocial assessment, group and individual relapse prevention counselling, case management, harm reduction education and information sessions.  The position will also be required to participate in networks to support referrals and facilitate access to other services.  Counsellors may also have to deliver assessment, education and brief intervention sessions to clients referred under the Police and Illicit Drugs Court Diversion program.  Applicants are required to have a degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or similar, along with eligibility for current professional association membership and further post-graduate relevant qualifications would be highly desireable.  In addition to a generalist counselling background, applicants are required to have solid experience of drug and alcohol case management and counselling and highly effective communication skills.  Specific renumeration details have not been disclosed for this role, however, salary packaging is available.

Case Worker - Townsville:  The Salvation Army - Eastern Territory

This is a full-time role that provides support and case management for young people, offering alcohol and other drug counselling and intensive case work (education, support intervention, assessment and referral) to individuals and families experiencing the impact of dependence from aclohol, drugs or gambling within an established framework.  The Salvation Army is an International Christian movement, an evangelical branch of the universal Christian church.  Applicants are required to have a commitment to the Christian faith and Salvation Army mission and be able to maintain a drug, alcohol and gambling free presence at all times.  Applications need to have atleast two years of experience in the implementation of case management in alcohol and other drug and mental health work.  Applicants must have tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Social Work or similiar disciplines, or extensive relevant experience with a miminum of a Diploma level qualitifation in Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health.  Along with an understanding of the issues faced by people with problematic substance use, mental ill health and other disabilities, applicants are required to have community engagement, problem solving, decision making and evaluation skills.  Applicants will ned to have or the ability to gain a Blue Card, Current Australian Drivers Licence and cleared National Police History Check, Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
