Hepatitis C in Drug and Alcohol settings Education Program

ASHM in collaboration with the Kirby Institute, UNSW and QNADA are partnering to present free training to alcohol and other drug treatment staff and practitioners in relation to working with people with a Hepatitis C diagnosis.  People who inject drugs represent approximately 90% of newly acquired hepatitis c infection.   Clinicians in drug and alcohol settings play an important role in improving the health outcomes of people living with Hepatitis C and can reduce a patient’s risk of  developing advanced liver disease through early diagnosis, appropriate management of co-morbidities and treatment with new, curative, Direct Acting Antiviral medication (DAAs).

This training will be at the Mercure Hotel, North Quay Brisbane and lunch and refreshments will be provided.  Please see more information here

Please go here to register.  Registration closes 25th July.  For more information, call Natalie Huska P: 028204 0784 or E:  natalie.huska@ashm.org.au
