Introduction to CBT for Allied Health Practioners working in AOD Settings

Please note course prerequisites: Participants must hold current Allied Health professional registration with AHPRA or the equivalent.

This workshop introduces Allied Health Practitioners working with clients experiencing problematic substance use to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). The theoretical underpinnings of the CBT model will be explored with a focus on:
• the key features of CBT
• behavioural and cognitive principles
• the importance of assessment
• the framework for formulation
• an introduction to frequently used CBT treatment interventions
